Colorado State CNA Training

The state and federal law mandates an approved certified nursing aide program to be comprised of a total of 175 hours. The first 75 hours include in class sessions; while next 100 hours include practical sessions in clinical environment. The classroom session tends to cover all the technical or theoretical syllabus of the course and the practical session covers the practice of clinical tasks by the students. They involve basic safety and hygiene, infection control, patient care, feeding and medication, preparing simple dressing, relocation of patients, bed making, providing with bed pan, bathing and grooming the patients, taking vital signs, maintaining health charts, reporting patients’ health updates to the doctors and registered nurses, etc. The students also learn to communicate both orally and written. They have to later serve as communicators between the patients and doctors. They also need to keep health charts and reports in precisely written format.

Exam for Certified Nursing Assistant

The state exam for certified nursing assistant must be taken through Pearson Vue. This exam can be taken only after the completion of the certified nursing aide classes. The exam tests the candidates in 2 ways, to solve a specific number of multiple choice questions based upon theory or technical syllabus. The other part of the exam tests the practical talent of the candidates. It asks the students to perform any 5 random clinical tasks under the supervision of course instructors and registered nurses (RNs). Once the candidates get through this exam, they become eligible to get the certification for the same. After following the desired procedure, they can also get their license. However, the certificate and license of CNA have to be renewed and verified at every regular time interval in order to prevent its deactivation and expiry.

CNA Certification Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (general educational development) test passing proof
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant course work
  • The latest immunization proof
  • Current background check proof
  • Negative TB test proof
  • General medical fitness proof by a doctor
  • A photo-identification proof

Online CNA Training

There is a high demand for nurses in the state. This is due to the constantly increasing need of medical care and attention. Hence in order to bridge the gap between the health care service providers and the available graduates, there are so many offline as well as online courses offered by this state. Like in-campus programs, CNA online programs also prepare highly skilled, competent and efficient nursing professionals through their quality syllabus and other amenities provided online. Almost all the CNA trainings in this state are considered to be of the best quality throughout the country.

The nurse aide registry of Colorado keeps record of the status and background check of all the registered nursing professionals in the state. The active or inactive status of a candidate signifies the working or non-working condition in the professional sense. This helps the employers while they are looking for qualified workers at their facilities.
