The Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) is responsible for maintaining the state’s CNA registry. To keep the registry up-to-date, UNAR designates Testmaster Universe (TMU) as the software provider for managing and administering the certification exams in Utah.

CNA License Requirements in Utah

In order to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Utah, you must complete an approved training program and pass the CNA competency exam.

The training program must be at least 100 hours long and cover topics such as basic nursing skills, communication, patient care, and safety. Once you have completed the training program, you can apply to take the board exam. The exam is administered by TMU and consists of 75 multiple choice questions and 5 randomly selected clinical task. You must score at least 75% to pass.

How to Renew CNA License In Utah?

As a CNA in Utah, you’re required to renew your license every two years. In order to renew, you must have completed 200 hours of paid services as a CNA within the previous two years. Renewal application is available on the TMU portal before 90 days prior to your license expiration date.
