All these aspects of nursing train the students in theory as well as clinical hands-on skills. They get sufficient time for acquiring and practicing the tasks for the sake of development. The training program renders all the skills along with the confidence to perform them successfully. Thus, the students become the prospective candidates to work as certified nurse aides at various professional settings.

CNA Exam in Kansas

Once the students complete their training programs of 90 hours, they get the ‘approval to test’ form. The state has an exam for certification and licensure for the nursing assistants. They have to fill in the form and submit to the concerned authority. After getting approved for the state CNA license exam, they can appear for the exam which is taken in 2 parts. First paper asks to solve 100 multiple choice questions and second paper asks to perform 5 given clinical tasks accurately. The students are supervised and assessed by instructors as well as registered nurses during the tests. They are tested both technically and clinically on the basis of their skills and knowledge, which decides the final evaluation.
One can appear for the exam either by taking formal training and obtaining the ‘approval to test’ form; or by reciprocity (in case of those from other states). The state allots a time period of 120 days from the time of getting the ‘approval to test’ form; during which the students can work as certified nurse aides at some health care setting. Before this time gets finished, they have to appear and pass the state exam. If one fails in the exam once, there is no alternative to re-test; but to re-enroll in the training before taking the exam. Kansas DHE is very much strict on this 120-day period policy. They do not allow any extension for this time at any cost. This rule is applicable for those who are standard applicants and those who are reciprocity applicants.
After passing the exam, the students get the certificate in a short time and then become eligible to get the licensure. Their names get listed on the state’s nurse aide registry. License and certificate, both are to be renewed after every 2 years in order to avoid their deactivation and expiry. They legally indicate the ability of the prospective candidate to work professionally as a certified nurse aide at any facility all over the state of Kansas. Rules regarding duration of course and exam are somewhat different in Kansas, but to enroll in an approved CNA training in Kansas is indeed a good option for those who want to become certified nursing assistants.
