Both these tests must be passed to gain the license. The written test involves answering around 50-70 multiple choice questions, that focuses on judging the nursing-related knowledge of the candidate.

One can take this written test orally; but it must be specified in the application form prior to exam appearance.

The skills test generally focuses on the candidate’s performance in any 5 skills, arbitrarily chosen and supervised by the administrator.

A list of such skills is available on our site. Once you manage to pass this exam, you will be registered by Kansas Nurse Aide Registry.

Thus after getting the license, you will be able to work anywhere as a certified nursing assistant in any hospital, clinic, long-term care facility, old age home, rehabilitation center, etc., in the state.

License renewal is very crucial for employment continuation as a nurse aide in that state.

It must be renewed after every 2 years. It is very essential to present your employment records highlighting paid work experience as a CNA over the last 2 years for renewal in Kansas.
