CNA certification requirements in Illinois

The state and federal government require students to complete the CNA training for certification. In Illinois, to enroll in the training program, student must be at least 16 or over 16 years of age. They can take admission even if they have not completed high school studies. The minimum education requirement for the program is eight-grade. In addition, they are required to speak and read in English language. Students can take the training and exam in other languages by requesting the State Nurse Aide Registry.

The Illinois CNA training program is of eight weeks and 154 hours. However, the state requirement for the certification is 120 hours. Any student who has completed the training hours required by the state can appear for the exam.
